Welcome to the Belly Button Buddies Website!!
The Belly Button Buddies™ had a lot of fun at the Flicks Youth Film Festival. It was great to watch six television episodes on the big theatre screen. There were hugs and giggles, and the Belly Button Buddy made everyone laugh as she squeezed into impossible spaces, got the audience singing and clapping, and gave away prizes. Thanks to everyone who attended and a special thanks to Flicks!
Traditional Role Play
The activities shown in the Belly Button Buddies television show are based on traditional role play. Children’s role play is an extension of what they experience in their lives. Traditional role play develops skills of listening, observing, communicating, co-operating, acting, organizing, and sequencing. Role play is also just good fun! The only thing caregivers need to provide is a space and some interesting stuff.
Once Upon a Time
The Belly Button Buddies, a multi-faceted concept in children's entertainment, began in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada in 1999. It is the delightful result of collaboration between visual artist Denyse Klette and writer-performer Nicole Haddock. Evolving from Denyse's paintings to Nicole's poetry and on to hundreds of performances for thousands of children, the Belly Button Buddies continue to bring a sense of fun to the young at heart.
